Weddings on the Waterfront

Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of doing many weddings and events at several of the fabulous venues on Seattle’s beautiful waterfront.  So, it’s very exciting that there will finally be a showcase of these locations where engaged couples can preview them all in one day!  Weddings on the Waterfront will bring all facets of the wedding world together to provide you with an afternoon of food, flowers, drinks, music, desserts, photographers, wedding planners, and just about everything else you’ll need — all on a fun walking tour of the waterfront’s best venues!  I’m thrilled to be participating, and can’t wait to share more details as the planning continues.  Get your tickets today, and stay tuned!

Northwest Flower & Garden Show 2012

I never miss the Northwest Flower & Garden Show, and I’m very excited to be exhibiting again this year as part of the Floral Competition!  This year’s theme is ‘A Floral Symphony’ — combining two of my most favorite things, music and flowers!  The theme I chose for my design is ‘Crescendo,’ a familiar musical term that means, literally, “growing.”  I can’t wait to see all the other inspirations in the floral designs and display gardens!  The show is February 8 – 12 at the Washington State Convention Center.  Advance tickets are available here.

I’m thrilled to be able to share these wonderful photos from f7 Photography of a wedding we did last July at the beautiful Inglewood Golf Club!  As you can see, it was an absolutely gorgeous day for an outside affair, and everyone had a fabulous time.  Take a look also at this video of the day by Edit 1 Media that opens with a quick time-lapse of us setting up the chuppah!

Designing from the Garden II

Continuing from my post on December 13, here are more gorgeous photos by Barbie Hull from our project on designing floral arrangements using your own garden flowers.

For this design I wanted to use a typical household item that isn’t necessarily intended to hold a floral arrangement.  You may have lots of vases in your home, but sometimes they aren’t the right shape or height for the design you would like to make.  Look around you and pick something unexpected!  Here, I’ve used a soup tureen, including the lid and ladle with the finished arrangement to create a charming centerpiece tableau.

This arrangement contains: Hydrangea, Echinacea, Heather, Weigela foliage, and Sedum.
